At Competent Communicators, our mission is to provide connection-based, neurodiversity-affirming speech and language therapy that honors each child's unique way of communicating. We serve children from infancy through adolescence at our clinic in East Providence, Rhode Island, with specialized expertise in supporting autistic children, gestalt language processors, and children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Our services include comprehensive speech and language evaluations, AAC evaluations, individualized speech and AAC therapy, parent coaching, school contract services, and early intervention for children ages 0–3. Through play, connection, and collaboration with caregivers, we help children build meaningful communication skills that support participation in everyday life.

Meet The Founder and Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
Welcome! I’m Kaitlin.
I became a speech-language pathologist because I've always been passionate about child development, meaningful relationships, and helping children thrive. My approach is family-centered, connection-based, and neurodiversity-affirming. I strive to create therapy spaces where children feel accepted, parents feel supported, and communication grows through play, connection, and joy.
I am especially passionate about supporting autistic children, gestalt language processors, AAC users, and families seeking early intervention services. At Competent Communicators, we believe all play is valid, every form of communication has value, and every child's voice deserves to be heard and celebrated.
